GlobeMed at the University of Washington is proud to present our 2013 Inaugural Benefit Dinner, "Momentum: a night of student engagement, global health dialog, and fundraising" for our partner the Women Development Association, a Cambodian grassroots organization. GlobeMed aims to strengthen the movement of students who are passionate about equal health and human justice, and is building a generation of young adults equipped to transform the world. We envision a world in which health –the ability to not only survive but thrive– is possible for all people regardless of where they call home. Momentum will explore what it means to be a student who seeks to participate in the issues of global health, learn about local global health organizations and larger international partnerships, and hear from professionals with direct experience from the field.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 providing 22 Peer Educators with the proper training and education materials to disseminate health information, specifically water sanitation, in the Prey Veng province. All proceeds will support the Women Development Association’s Health Education and Sanitation program in Cambodia, a leading example of strong and sustainable development work.
The University of Washington and the greater Seattle area is home to a powerful network of visionary people working in the fields of global health, social responsibility, and entrepreneurship, many with a specific focus on partnership. This evening will serve as an extraordinary opportunity to unite this network and to generate funding and new partnerships for the Women Development Association's work in Cambodia.
We believe every human life has equal worth and every person deserves the chance to thrive. Health for all is within our grasp, but we can only achieve this goal by working together. We would love to have your partnership and participation in this exciting event.
